This Action Words Pack is designed to develop the understanding and use of action words at the single word level, 2 word level, and 3 word level. The pack includes 14 brand new toy objects, as pictured, in a zipped bag, labelled with a brown parcel tag. The teddy is 15cm tall, and the doll is 12cm tall. All objects are designed for children aged 3 years plus.
There are 4 x object to picture matching A4 green baseboards to help with naming the objects and recognising the pictures used in the picture instructions (NB: these are not photos of the actual objects used).
There are 24 matching Subject-Verb Pictures (e.g. ‘teddy drinking’), each backed with card and laminated. The picture cards are A6 size, bundled into 2 sets. They show a teddy and a doll using the objects to perform actions.
Of these 24 cards, 8 are bundled into a smaller set as these are also used to encourage Verb-Object and Subject-Verb-Object construction, e.g. ‘eating pizza’ and ‘Teddy eating pizza’.
There are 2 x picture to picture matching A4 red baseboards for these 8 picture cards, and a red WH questions baseboard to prompt for Object-Verb and Subect-Verb-Object constructions.
There is an A4 advice sheet with ideas for simple activities, and an A4 photocopiable record sheet.
All the visual resources fit into an A4 labelled popper bag.
