Wooden vehicle train with photo symbol dinosaur baseboard, numbers baseboard and colours baseboard, requesting ‘I want’ strips and commenting ‘I can see’ strips.
The train has 9 painted wooden ’cars’, each measuring up to approximately 7cm long by 9 cm tall, by 2.5cm wide, connecting to each other with a plastic hook. Each car has a number from 0 to 10, and a dinosaur. The train comes in a sturdy plastic box with clip-on lid, labelled with a ‘dinosaur train’ picture.
There is a baseboard with 11 photo symbols, to place the photo symbols for each dinosaur and for the driver; the baseboard has silhouettes of each character with the name underneath (‘Pleiosaur’ etc) and the number for easy matching.
These are used to request the dinosaur pieces either on their own, or with the ‘I want’ strips.
There are 2 further baseboards, 1 for number symbols (0-10) and 1 for colour pictures (11).
These symbols and pictures are used for commenting using the I Can See strips.
All the photo symbols measure approximately 6cm x 7 cm.
The visual resources fit into an A4 zipped bag, labelled with a brown parcel tag.
This pack is recommended for use with children with delayed language and children with ASD.
It targets building vocabulary functionally i.e. through requesting and commenting on motivating toys. The use of picture exchange means they can be used with children who have no verbal language
