Product Details

Picture cards + tips to help your child understand and use more words related to transport, animals and colours.

The resource has been designed to accompany the book “Bear on a Bike” which features a bear travelling in different vehicles, to catch up with a mouse, and uses simple descriptive language. The activities can all be used with or without the book. NB The book is not included with this pack.

The picture symbols are of a bear, a mouse, and a monkey, all laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic and attached to a baseboard with Velcro dots, that are compatible with PECS products (Picture Exchange Communication System).

There are 12 place boards, measuring approximately 7.5” x 5”, of a red and blue bike and trolley, a red and yellow scooter and lorry, a green and red boat, and a blue and yellow aeroplane- all laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic and backed with matching colour card for durability.

There is a pack of 36 photo instruction cards, featuring each of the animals in or on each of the vehicles (e.g. the mouse in the blue trolley, the monkey on the yellow aeroplane), laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic and held together with an elastic band.

The resources are designed to help children understand and use language at the 1 word level (where’s the MOUSE?) the 2 word level (put the BEAR on the BIKE) and the 3 word level (put the MONKEY in the RED LORRY).

Finally there is an A5 advice sheet, laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic, with tips for using the resources to boost your child’s speech and language, gained from my 30 years work as a Speech and Language Therapist (now retired).

The picture resources and advice sheet all fit into a sturdy A5 zipped bag, labelled with a brown parcel tag ,for convenience and durability.

This resource extends the language-boosting potential of a great book, with picture games that work well for children with delayed language, for children with autism, and for children learning English as an additional language.
