This is a comprehensive pack of activities to support children’s understanding of Blanks level Questions, working through ALL Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 questions, and SOME Level 4 questions.
The activities are based on superhero and supervillain characters and a simple storybook “The Incredible Hulk”. They include 8 miniature superhero figures (who can be mixed and matched for one of the activities), and crib cards for matching pictures of these superheroes plus crib cards and pictures of 8 related supervillains.
Activities are highly visual and interactive and provide a range of prompts and support for the kinds of questions children find difficult to answer in class from the ages 3-6 years.
They are split into 2 main kinds of activities: Vocabulary and Narrative.
The Vocabulary activities are based around word webs with accompanying resources addressing colour, category, actions and costumes. There is a more advanced word web which targets significant vocabulary used in superhero stories.
The Narrative activities use a 6-picture story sequence, a storyboard template, and Level 3-4 questions relating to the story. There are also prompts to make up your own story using one/some of the figures or pictures.
There is a double-sided list of the questions/resources/possible answers categorised into Blank Level One, two, Three and Four.
This is an alternative to picture-based and questioning activities.
Highly recommended for children who have learned the basics of language, but struggle with typical questions asked by school staff. Suitable for children with delayed language, children with autism, and children learning English.
