The Story Sequencing Pictures are A6 in size, laminated and backed in card. There is a sentence to describe each picture. On the back of each is a list of the sensory objects needed, actions to perform/encourage, and any dialogue.
NB: The book is not included in this pack. The story can be told (in simplified form) using the story sequencing pictures.
The Sensory Objects are chosen to emphasise the actions in this story. Most are tactile, with some auditory, visual and scent objects included. The objects are as follows (with action suggested in brackets):
Stick Man - wooden spoon 26cm long covered in felt (waving hello, flying, dancing)
Family - 4 small wooden spoons each 16cm long connected with a treasury tag (dancing)
Dog - sock puppet: adult size sock (picking up and dropping)
River - blue scarf 60cm x 60cm (covering, floating, rolling around)
Swan - cushion 20cm x 20cm x 6cm (being sat on, squashing)
Flag - flag 28cm x 21cm (waving)
Time passing - liquid bubble timer 14cm x 6cm (waiting, watching)
Snow - white net 57cm x 54cm (covering, falling)
Grate - brown felt (Stick Man sleeping and snoring)
Christmas smells - soap 3cm x 3cm in a bag 9cm x 6cm (smelling)
Christmas sounds - wrist jingle bells (hearing)
Santa - soft toy 26cm tall (flying)
Dancing - hand crank music box 6cm x 6cm x 4cm with Christmas Song (dancing)
All the objects are in labelled zipped bags which fit into an A3 zipped bag together with the Story Sequencing pictures.
