Three Little Pigs 4WL and Story Sequencing Pack with Board Book

“The Three Little Pigs” Board Book + picture cards based on the story + picture instructions + Story Sequencing Lottos + tips to help your child understand and use ‘In’, On’, ‘Under’, ‘Big’, ‘Little’.

The board book measures approximately 18cm x 18cm, and has 10 pages with the fairy tale told using quite simple language but keeping the repetitive refrains.

The picture character cards are of a little pig, a little wolf, a big pig, a big wolf, 3 little pigs and 3 little wolves, attached to a baseboard with Velcro dots, that are compatible with PECS products (Picture Exchange Communication System).

There are 3 place boards (A5 size) of a house made of straw, one of sticks, and one of bricks, backed with card for extra durability, with Velcro dots positioned to show ‘in’, on’ and ‘under’.

There is a pack of 30 picture instruction cards, featuring each of the characters in each of the places.

These resources are designed to help children understand and use language up to the 4 word level (put the BIG PIG ON the STRAW HOUSE).

There are 3 story sequencing lottos for the First, Second and Third Little Pig: the first 2 have 9 matching pictures, the third has 12 matching pictures. The story sequencing Lottos have a baseboard of 9 or 12 pictures, with sequences of 3 pictures attached to the next using treasury tags. Each picture uses a single word or short phrase to prompt a story retelling. Each story includes the dialogue between the wolf and the pigs (Little pig little pig let me come in, not by the hair of my chinny chin chin..... then I’ll huff and I’ll puff.... etc).

Finally there is an A5 advice sheet, laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic, with tips for using the resources to boost your child’s speech and language, gained from my 30 years work as a Speech and Language Therapist (now retired).

The picture resources and advice sheet are all laminated in Matt non-reflective plastic, and all fit into a sturdy A5 zipped bag, labelled with a brown parcel tag, for convenience and durability.

This resource is suitable for individual or small group work, and extends the language-boosting potential of a well-loved story, with picture games that work well for children with delayed language, for children with autism, and for children learning English as an additional language.
